James Pipe BSc (Hons) MCSP HPC AACP

James is the founder and Director of James Pipe physiotherapy. He spent his formative years playing professional cricket for both Worcestershire and Derbyshire, making 198 first team appearances. During his 15 year career he graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist and has worked in a variety of clinical settings including the NHS, Private Practice and professional rugby. He is currently Lead Physiotherapist for Derbyshire County Cricket Club overseeing Physiotherapy and Medical services for the Professional and Academy squads. He is also a member of The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (ACPSM) and The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Paul Godfrey BSc (Hons) MSc Grad Dip Manip Ther MMACP MCSP

Paul qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1992 from St. Mary’s Hospital, London.  He has worked in all aspects of the profession from the NHS to private practice and then more recently in elite sport. Post graduate study in the late 90’s lead Paul to become a Chartered Manipulative Physiotherapist and Physiologist, qualifications that assisted him until recently as the 1st team Physiotherapist and Head of Medical Services at Notts County Football Club.

 

Paul has two master’s degrees (or the equivalent there of); A Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia (gained in 1995) – his dissertation research was published in the Journal of Electromyography and  Kinesiology (1998), he also has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Human and Applied Physiology from Kings College, London (gained in 2000).

 

Paul is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (C.S.P) and is registered with the Health Professions Council (H.P.C). He also holds post graduate memberships of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (M.A.C.P), the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (A.A.C.P) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (A.C.P.S.M), where he is only one of a few members to be recognised with their highest Gold level accreditation.

 

Over the last few years prior to working at Notts County Football Club (N.C.F.C), Paul worked at the English Institute for Sport (EIS) at various locations within the UK  and abroad working with a number individuals and teams in a variety of sports at national and international elite level. These sports included Rowing, Hockey, Paralympic swimming, Archery and GB Basketball, Badminton, Water Polo, and most recently Track and Field athletes from within UK Athletics.

 

Paul worked with NCFC for two seasons, where he headed up the medical and sports science department, but he also continued to work in private practice in the evenings. He is therefore, very used to assessing and rehabilitating all manner of sports, spinal and work related musculoskeletal injuries ranging from the sedentary office worker up to the professional elite athlete.
